Vic: Missing girls found after cold night alone in forest

Two girls who spent last night alone and cold in a central Victorian forest have been
found safe and well after a large scale search.

The two friends, aged eight and nine, told rescuers they had heard voices and sirens
during the night but no-one had heard their small cries.

The pair went missing at about 6:30pm yesterday from a property at Taradale, northwest
of Melbourne, while the father of one of them worked in a shed.

Their disappearance sparked a late night search by police, the State Emergency Service
and the Country Fire Authority.

They were found around 9:30am by local property owner GARY CLARK.

The pair are in good health despite their night in the cold and rain.
