DEAR HELOISE: Regarding yellowed, brittle newspaper clippings: I copy them on a copy machine. No matter how yellow or brittle, they come out white again.

I've been doing this for years, and so far I've not noticed any yellowing. This is much less expensive than laminating. -- R., Fort Morgan, Colo.
